Rest in Peace Operations Finance Manager for she hath done what she could during this phase of her life. The headstone was beautifully crafted from the finest blue and grey granite that money could buy. She deserves to have the best, after all, she worked diligently and dedicated her life to accomplishing nothing short of excellence.

Her headstone, which sat at the edge of a mound overlooking a vast serene lake, was surrounded by stunning bouquets of white peonies, 11 flowerpots with blue moth orchids, and one single white lotus flower accented the top of the smoothly curved granite marker.

Because I Care About Being Real, Not Popular

In my unpopular opinion, I think some people including myself need to just shut up and start listening more to each other. It is when we are silent that we gain the most knowledge. We live in a world where everybody has created their own soap boxes, but those soap boxes are filled with influencers and other humans riding on the same bandwagon.

We are all entitled to our opinions and of course you know that famous saying about opinions, right? We all have one, but some of them are full of crap😉. But seriously, I remember a world where…

These Wounds Require the Most Healing

Photo by Tasha Jolley on Unsplash

I had a text exchange that shook my soul with a family member who lost a friend to suicide last night. Apparently, this person was a successful business owner who was always the life of the party. So, I can only assume that this terrible news came as a shock to many of his friends and family. You just never know for sure what pain and suffering someone is experiencing daily, especially if you’re only observing bits and pieces of their lives.

Have you every contemplated committing suicide?
Personally, I recall living through those complicated pre-teen years convinced that my…

Overcoming Trauma to Discover the True Meaning of God

Twenty years ago, on September 12th, 2001, I broke up with God. After years of questioning His very existence, I finally had the overwhelming desire to remove God from my life once and for all. On September 11th, 2001, I believed that He failed the American people because in my disillusioned and emotionally damaged state, I saw no evidence of God on that day.

I remember the exact day I broke up with God because it was the day after the tragedy of 9/11, when the World Trade Centers collapsed after being hit by 2 commercial airplanes. I experienced the…

Avatar for the Human Experience

Guest Prompt Week 4, Day 3:Most, if not all of us, have seen the quotes questioning whether we are human beings seeking spiritual experiences or spiritual beings seeking human experiences. What do you think?”

Can you imagine a world if all human beings woke up and realized that our bodies are merely avatars for our souls, what would that look like? Recently, I had a conversation with a friend who has just begun his spiritual awakening. So, he is literally like a kid in a candy store as he acquires all this knowledge, it is quite exciting. …

My Unpopular Opinion About Adult Bullying

Photo by Yan Krukov from Pexels

Why is everything upside down? It seems like the world is trapped in a warped dimension and we are all living out an alternate reality. Have some adults lost their senses and reverted to playground tactics? Tactics that include but not limited to name calling, bullying/cyberbullying, and wishing death on each other. Can someone please answer this question, is it no longer ok to have opposing viewpoints or perspectives without facing viscous backlash?

When did we become stupid or idiots if we don’t agree with each other, is this where we are as a society? Are there any safe spaces…

My Unpopular Opinion about a Woman’s Reproductive Rights

Photo by Rux Centea on Unsplash

Government should not make decisions regarding my pokalotti*. Enough is enough.

Yes, I said it. They should mind their own business.

Reproductive rights should be exclusive to women, and if there is a decision to be made, perhaps the other party involved (if applicable), and medical professionals should be available to provide advice if she needs it in order to best resolve.

If I am in a situation that is perhaps considered life threatening, then I believe a medical professional should be the source of advice to assist in making the most ideal decision for my unique situation.

Or, if…

My Unpopular Opinion About Humanity

Photo by Wylly Suhendra on Unsplash

I believe humans have been conditioned to function inside the boundaries of boxes that separate us by race, gender, religion, political affiliation, class, etc. In addition, there are other socially accepted constructs which further places distance between our humanness. The more we separate and divide ourselves into these pockets, the less connected we are to each other.

Now don’t get me wrong, it is perfectly fine to embrace your race, religion, gender, or any other social constructs, they have been beneficial to our identities and our quality of life.

However, because many of these social constructs have been tampered with…

when you compromise
your happiness, what are you
left with? — Resentment?

I believe that compromise is important in any relationship, but to what end? If we compromise too much by giving up more of ourselves than we desire, then what are the end results of that? Emptiness, perhaps resentment?

In my opinion, I think we are asked to compromise too much of ourselves whether it is for our careers, relationships, lifestyles, religion, government, etc. I believe each time we compromise whether willingly or unwillingly, we sacrifice pieces of our own sanity while silently killing pieces of our souls.
