Before COVID became a thing, I remember avoiding people in the office who were coughing. And if I was coughing, I made sure that I was not doing it in other people's spaces.

Unfortunately, in a doctor's office, hospital room waiting room or even in public spaces, it's hard to avoid sick people. But it would be considerate if more folks covered their mouths when they cough in those spaces. That is something basic that was taught in school at an early age.
