Broken Hearted Smiles

My broken heart smiled today,

In between the shattered pieces, a glimmer of hope,

Hope that all the pieces could someday mend,

Mend from the possibility of what could be,

The possibility of leaving the superficial behind and venture somewhere deeper,

A place where vulnerability, passion, and laughter exists,

A place outside of my safe haven where the walls fall and you see beneath me,

See me as I really am, broken,

Broken from pain, anger, and hopelessness,

But hope is not all lost because my broken heart smiled today,

Still smiling discovering a new path,

A path of healing, laughing, and feeling,

Damn, I’m having a moment, a simple moment of bliss,

Because my broken heart smiled today and I’m in love with it.
