Nature Haiku
Peahen hopes to be-
come a duck, but she can’t quack,
so she sits and waits.
A couple years ago, a lone peahen found her way to the pond near my home. She followed the ducks around the complex and mimicked their actions. I recall, one incident where I returned from a trip, and a mother duck with her 3 ducklings were waddling across the parking lot, and sure enough, the peahen was right behind them. I couldn’t find that picture in my phone, but if I do, I will post it as well. I am not sure what happened to that peahen, as I no longer live there, but I hope her dreams of befriending the ducks came through, or I hope she returned back home to her family.
