I am guilty of not responding back to comments and that is because it is to protect my sanity. When I used to reply to every comment it became too overwhelming for me - I struggled a lot with the platform. I agree that Medium has room for a plethora of writers. I am the opposite of you, I prefer shorter articles - short and sweet.
