I Thought About Quitting…
Yesterday I thought about quitting Medium.
Not because I don’t enjoy the platform. It’s such a great place to write, read and comment on interesting articles, so I really enjoy it. However, yesterday I felt like the noise was too much, partly my fault. Most of the articles that I kept reading or seeing had something to do with politics, racism, white supremacy, killings, as well as other intense topics. And don’t get me wrong, I like to be plugged in with those issues, but there needs to be some form of balance and I was missing that.
In addition, I did a quick search on feminism because I wanted to write an article about it (Feminism and Its Impact on Heterosexual Relationships). I wanted to make sure that this topic wasn’t already covered on Medium and oh crap, why in the hell did I do that? Feminism is such a polarizing topic, and I was overwhelmed with all that heaviness. I was not expecting to walk away feeling like that, so my article will be on hold for now.
So, yesterday was a struggle to get over all that and I considered just leaving Medium because I didn’t like the heaviness that I kept feeling. This is the world of Social Media, no wonder people are pissed off all the time.
