Salad Flower
Haiku — Foodie Friday
vibrancy of Spring
sweet and savory produce—
but not a flower.
I recently did a search in the album on my cell phone using the keyword flowers. The search results came back with this picture of a watermelon feta salad, that I made over the Summer. The colors of the salad are bright and vibrant, but I don’t think it looks like a flower or does it? Obviously, the Android OS thinks differently. Patrick M. Ohana, is this salad keto friendly? I normally use balsamic, sometimes mixed with honey to dress it.
I will give the recipe, however it is not mine as I pulled it from online and added my own twist to it. And you know I have no measurements, right? I am just one of those “chefs” who just go with the flow when “cooking” lol. 😉
- Arugula — I find this is the best greens for this salad as its peppery taste compliments the other flavors in the salad. I have tried romaine and that does not work. Watercress was ok, but nah, go with arugula.
- Watermelon — the star of the show. I recommend making this salad in the Summer when watermelon is in season. I was never a big fan of watermelon until I found this salad. I do not enjoy…
