I have no issue with a man making less or more money than I do. I come from a very traditional family where my dad was the primary provider. In any relationship I enter into, I do have certain expectations from that man. Do I need him to buy me purses or expensive cars, no but I do need him to be there financially as long as he is able to do so.
I think the lines get blurred when someone places these materialistic items at the forefront of the argument. It further complicates the situation and leaves the door open for ridicule.
