The strength of a woman,

We carry the weight of 10,000 souls on our backs,

We carry a child within the interior of our wombs,

We are the glue that keeps the family structure strong,

We are the matriarchal energy that travels through your veins,

We heal the emotional and physical wounds that plague our society,

We carry the energy that dominates the essence of life,

We make ourselves available whenever needed,

We stand quietly and let others take credit for our sacrifice,

Then, we climb mountains to overcome our own plight,

We feed nations with our hearts and souls,

We teach the next generation the way of life,

We stand together like giants, brave and bold,

We fight injustice with our sweat and blood,

So, the next time you decide to disrespect or demean us,

Realize this, you will never understand or possess,

That which is ingrained within us,

The strength of a woman.
