This is magical.

… moment. I dropped my skills as a counselor and pulled my ordinarily robust energy closer to myself. I allowed myself to feel completely helpless and compassionate as I listened to what he had to say. And I allowed myself to let my own feelings of helplessness from my past as well as my abilities to help him go into the space I had created for him — realizing it was also for me.
